First, we both love living in Victoria, British Columbia. Our condo home overlooks the harbor with breathtaking views of the water and the mountains. We sit on our balcony and enjoy the everchanging activity of Victoria Harbour.

We consider ourselves lucky to be living here as Canadians.
After moving to Victoria and enjoying life in Canada for over a year, it was time … to buy a boat! We were ready to venture over to the “dark side” and began searching for an ideal trawler that is better suited for cruising the Pacific Northwest and exploring the Inside Passage from Vancouver Island up to Alaska.
Our Yacht Broker at Custom Yachts, Ltd tipped us off to a boat that they had just acquired as a trade-in. She was a well-maintained 2010 Nordic Tug 37 in excellent condition named “Ramblin Rose III”.

She was renamed “Ellie B” in memory of our sweet dog, who made the 3,000 mile move with us from South Carolina to Victoria, BC in March, 2025.

In the Pilothouse: Soon to be ours Nordic Tug 37
There are so many things that we love about this Nordic Tug 37. I surveyed her myself from stem to stern and performed the sea trial. She is well-equipped and “turn’-key” ready to start cruising right away. It’s been a rather tough past 18 months and we are ready to get out on the water again.
